How to identify this generation
- A dark grey head with BIG BERTHA lettering on a white bar across the cavity, a Callaway script beneath it at the toe and black honeycomb inserts above and below the bar.
- The Big Bertha name also appears on these Callaway irons; compare their markings before using this chart: Big Bertha (2015); Big Bertha (2019); Big Bertha (2023).
What to notice in the specifications
- Callaway also lists a women’s build (36.25 in 7-iron); its lofts or lies differ, so check which build a used set is.
- Callaway publishes the same lofts, lies and lengths for Callaway Big Bertha irons (2015), a different head.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.
Read our loft guide for a worked example of comparing the numbers, and our used iron checklist before relying on a seller's description.
