Identifying the right model
- A chrome sole with a grey crown edge: Callaway GOLF script in the upper centre, BIG BERTHA in red capitals across the lower sole, the club number (3) toward the heel and a small dark weight port beside it near the hosel.
What to check before using the reference
- Callaway lists two stock builds for every head, 0.5 in apart with D2 and D4 swing weights, without naming the shafts; both are kept as configuration rows and neither is assigned to steel or graphite.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.
